NPK fertiliser ratios and nutrient deficiencies
Warren from Downes nursery also presents for Home and garden for mere mortals YouTube channel, in this video he goes though NPK ratios on fertiliser and what it means.
The video also shows nutrient deficiencies and how to identify them.
When buying fertiliser from the garden centre it often has a N.P.K ratio on the packet which stands for.
(N) Nitrogen
(P) Phosphorus
(K) Potassium
These numbers refer to the percentage of each nutrient in the packet, the above video is a brief overview on these elements and how they benefit your plants. These 3 are referred to as Macro nutrients there are also micro nutrients like copper, magnesium, sulphur etc which the plants also need so it’s a good idea to buy a fertiliser that includes these.
